Victorian ebonised pier cabinet   A decorative Victorian ebonised pier cabinet, dating to the mid–late 19th century and very much in the French Napoleon III taste. Finished in a rich black ebonised ground with contrasting burr walnut panels, then elevated with gilt detailing, fluted columns and Sevres-style porcelain plaque to the frieze. The twin glazed doors open to reveal shelved interior space, clad in a neutral colour velvet material, ideal for displaying treasured objects, curiosities, collections or used as a bookcase.. Elegant yet bold, it has that classic “statement cabinet” presence without being overwhelming. In good honest antique condition with age-related wear in keeping with its years, adding to its character, a smart and versatile piece.
